Angelo Da Costa is a commissioning and policy professional, award-winning campaigner, and community leader dedicated to driving social impact through innovation, strategy, and inclusive engagement. With a career spanning local government, public affairs, and international partnerships, Angelo has built a reputation for translating complex challenges into practical, people-centred solutions.

Currently working within Local Government in London, Angelo leads on high-impact commissioning programmes, shaping services that support some of the most vulnerable residents. His work combines strategic oversight with grassroots insight, ensuring that policy is not only effective but genuinely reflective of the communities it serves.

Beyond his professional role, Angelo is the founder of Vocal Communities CIC, a platform committed to strengthening democracy through conversation, and The PALOP Society, a growing network connecting Portuguese-speaking African communities across the diaspora to drive economic, cultural, and policy engagement. His leadership in these spaces has positioned him as a key voice in bridging communities, institutions, and opportunity.

Angelo’s advocacy work has gained international recognition. He is an award-winning campaigner, with his contributions and initiatives featured in publications such as Forbes Africa, Jornal de Angola, PoliticsHome, and other leading media platforms. His ability to influence at both grassroots and policy levels has led to successful engagement with senior decision-makers, including Members of Parliament, academics, and global organisations.

Alongside his professional and community work, Angelo serves as a Magistrate, reflecting his commitment to justice and public service and has stood in the Local Election 2018, being one of few Angolan born Brits to attempt it. He holds two Master’s degrees from SOAS University of London in International Politics and Law & Public Policy, equipping him with a strong analytical and global perspective.
